Wandering through Guanajuato has been in my bucket list for a while now. This city has a link to my childhood & after 10 years, I finally had the chance to come back. Follow me through Guanajuato, fall in love with the history and magic behind this Mexican city.
Visitar Guanajuato ha estado en mi bucket list desde hace tiempo. Esta ciudad me recuerda a mi infancia y después de 10 años, finalmente tuvo la oportunidad de volver. Síganme por Guanajuato, y enamórense de la historia y la magia detrás de esta ciudad mexicana.

Guanajuato is one of the most important cities in Mexico, in the cultural field. Guanajuato has been named as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Home to one of the most important mines in the country & being place to relevant episodes during Mexico’s Independence.
Fall in love while wandering through Guanajuato:
- Go to an orchestra concert in Teatro Juarez. Guanajuato is home to one of the most beautiful theaters in LatinAmerica,so safe a night to get inside and enjoy a concert.
- Explore the Valenciana Mine. Its was the main silver mine in Mexico, you can actually go and have a tour inside the mine, which is something really cool.
- Have a meal in the city center. Have the original enchiladas mineras in any of the main plaza restaurants while you enjoy a nice chat and a spectacular view
- Be part of a true Callejoneada. Wandering through Guanajuato at night while a true estudiantina sing the main legends and stories of the city. The tour end at The Kissing Alley.
- Get to see the House of Diego Rivera. The birth home to one of Mexico’s most important and loved artist, is now a museum in his honor.
- Eat like a true local at Mercado Hidalgo. As you might know now I love food XD so as my dad says, if you wanna truly eat like a local, you must go to the city’s market.
- Visit & love the architecture design at Universidad de Guanajuato. One of the main spots in the city, a lot of stories have been said here.
- Don’t get scared at The Mummy Museum. the museum has more than 110 bodies of women, men and children. Almost all of them have a personal history or some detail that characterizes them.
- Walk along the Alhóndiga. At first it was used as food and grain warehouse, later it become one of the main stages of the Independence of Mexico. You can enter and see the murals, the museum & the memorial to Mexican Independences Heroes.
- Watch the city from the Monument of El Pípila. Guanajuato’s lookout point, where you can see the most amazing and beautiful views of the city.
Guanajuato es una de las ciudades más importantes de México, en el ámbito cultural; ha sido nombrado como Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO, es hogar de una de las minas más importantes del país y siendo lugar a episodios relevantes durante la Independencia de México.
Enamorate mientras paseas por Guanajuato:
- Ir a un concierto de la orquesta en el Teatro Juárez. Guanajuato es el hogar de uno de los teatros más bellos de Latinoamérica, guarda una noche para entrar y disfrutar de un concierto.
- Explorar la Mina de la Valenciana. Fue la principal mina de plata en México,puedes tomar un tour en el cual te hablaran sobre la historia de la mina y sus minerales.
- Disfrutar de una comida en el centro de la ciudad. Come las originales enchiladas mineras en alguno de los principales restaurantes de la plaza mientras disfrutas de una agradable charla y una vista espectacular.
- Ser parte de una verdadera Callejoneada. Pasea por Guanajuato acompañados de una estudiantina, mientras escuchas las leyendas e historias de la ciudad. El recorrido termina en el inolvidable Callejón del Beso.
- Entrar a la casa de Diego Rivera. La casa de uno de los artistas más importantes y queridos de México, es ahora un museo en su honor, que no te puedes perder.
- Comer como un verdadero local en el Mercado Hidalgo. Como deben de saber, me encanta la comida, así que como mi papa dice, si quieres realmente comer como un local, debe ir al mercado de la ciudad.
- Visita y ama el diseño y arquitectura de la Universidad de Guanajuato. Uno de los principales puntos de la ciudad.
- Asustarse en el Museo de las Momias. el museo cuenta con más de 110 cuerpos y casi todos ellos tienen una historia personal que te cuentan mientras caminas entre ellos.
- Paseo por la Alhóndiga. En un principio se utilizaba como alimento y almacén de granos, más tarde se convierten en una de los principales escenarios de la Independencia de México. Puedes entrar y ver los murales, el museo y el monumento a los Héroes Mexicanos.
- Ver la ciudad desde el monumento del Pípila. El mirador de Guanajuato, donde se pueden ver las vistas más impresionantes y bellas de la ciudad.
