Can there be anything more Mexican than tequila & mariachi? I don’t know, what I do know is that I love them both. So why not go to the town where everything began?… GUADALAJARA!

¿Puede haber algo más mexicano que el tequila y mariachi? No sé, lo que sí sé es que me encantan así que, ¿Por qué no ir a la ciudad donde todo comenzó? … GUADALAJARA!

Tequila & Mariachis in Guadalajara

Waking up in Guadalajara and knowing you’re gonna have a 100% Mexican day; can only mean one thing!. Tequila awaits for you aboard the Jose Cuervo Express.

A hot cup of coffee and a yummy piece of bread were waiting for us in the train station at 8am, our destination, Tequila, a small magic town near Guadalajara; after a few minutes we got into our wagon, a VIP all included vintage wagon. (I mean you can’t get any much fancier than this). We took our sits and had a breakfast.

As soon as we were out of the city the fun started, 3 cups of different types of tequila came for each one of us, it was time for the Tequila tasting, the brand Tequila Centenario, (YES ppl it was barely 10am and I was drinking Tequila), they told us about what makes a tequila a good tequila for example its scents, color & consistency, my favorite by far is the añejo kind, this one is the kind of tequila that takes the longest to be  made, but the flavor is “soft and tender”.

We got to Town of Tequila where a mariachi was already playing one of my favorite songs, we had a mexican screaming contest, I know I can’t even explain this part but guess what… I won! XD. Off to La Rojeña, LatinAmerica’s oldest Tequila factory, to know a little more about its making process and getting a little taste of Jose Cuervo’s best tequila.

After having lunch we wondered a bit through the beautiful town of Tequila and ended our visit with a mariachi and folklore show.  Got on our returning bus thinking it was all finished, but boy! was I wrong, we were off to a Agave plantation to see how it all started!

That was how this amazing day ended next to the best people in my life:D.

Tequila y Mariachi en Guadalajara

Despertar en Guadalajara, sabiendo que vas a tener un día 100% mexicano; sólo puede significar una cosa… Tequila te espera a bordo del José Cuervo Express.

Una caliente taza de café y un pan dulce nos estaban esperando en la estación de tren a las 8 am!, nuestro destino, Tequila, un pequeño pueblo mágico cerca de Guadalajara; después de unos minutos subimos al vagón, un vagón vintage, VIP todo incluido. (no podríamos pedir por algo más hermoso y lujoso que esto). Llegamos a nuestros asientos donde el desayuno estaba servido, una copa de frutas y una deliciosa torta ahogada.

Tan pronto el tren salió de la ciudad, la diversión comenzó, 3 copas de diferentes tipos de tequila llegaron a la mesa, era el momento para la degustación, la marca – Tequila Centenario, (SI! apenas eran las 10 am y yo estaba tomando tequila), nos hablaron sobre lo que hace a un tequila un BUEN tequila, por ejemplo, sus aromas, color y consistencia, mi preferido es el tequila añejo, éste  tipo de tequila es el que más tiempo esta el la barrica, pero el sabor es “delicioso y suave”.

¡Llegamos a la ciudad de Tequila, donde un mariachi ya estaba tocando una de mis canciones favoritas, aquí tuvimos un concurso de gritos mexicanos, sé que no puedo ni explicar esta parte … pero lo gané y el premio fue 1 botella XD!. Continuamos a La Rojeña, la fábrica de quita más antigua en Latinoamérica, para conocer un poco más acerca de su proceso de fabricación y probar el mejor tequila de José Cuervo.

Después de comer vagamos un poco por este hermoso pueblo y fuimos al foro a ver un show de mariachis y el folklore. Todos creemos que había terminado el día, pero estábamos muy equivocados. ¡Nos fuimos a una plantación de agave para ver donde empieza todo! 

Así fue como termino esta increíble día a lado de las mejores personas en mi vida 😀
